“I walked off you. And I walked off an old me” sings new viral singing sensation Maggie Rogers in her gorgeous song, Alaska.
I’ve been studying acupressure and I recently learned about the neat connection between the stomach meridian and grounding to earth.
This meridian travels down the front of your body ending at the second toe. When the stomach meridian is balanced we feel supported and nourished by the earth and ourselves. Tranquil. Trusting in the larger picture, trusting that our next meal is going to come.
When it’s disturbed we feel anxious and worried—empty and deprived. We might even tip over into obsession.
To stimulate that meridian, go for a walk to connect to the energy of the earth. I have to walk long enough to break through that layer of stress and it happens in an instant. Walk, walk walk…stress, stress, stress..
And then, one more deep breath and I feel reconnected. Magic.
